Have you heard about the sale of the century??

Susan over at Maple and Magnolia is having a "Cottage Sale" this weekend.  To say I'm excited is the understatement of the century.  She is selling TONS of fabulous pieces and gems.  Head over to Maple and Magnolia for some more pre-sale photos. I'll see you there!!

Vintage Ephemera Love

I have a thing for, well, a lot of things.  One of my passions is vintage ephemera.  I'm not sure why I collect so much of it,  I'm far from ever being a mixed media artist.  Here is some of what we recently gathered.
See, to me, this is beauty.  I don't know why, but they are just lovely!

These are all vintage clock faces.  Two are actually metal, but the rest, paper.  Because I have an addiction, but can't save everything, I actually scanned each and every one of these for later use.  You get the originals.

These too I scanned a few of.  I love reading the correspondence between two people back then.

The way people spoke to one another and what they wrote in a letter was so sweet and charming.

Even something like old prescription notes are cute tied up in a bundle together.

I'm sure you can imagine how excited I was to find 5 of these packs hidden behind the doors of the cubby.  One for me, 4 for you.

Ok, technically, these don't count as ephemera, but they are just so cool.

They have the perfect patina.
Do you have a "thing" for vintage ephemera?

Milk Paint Love

This week we hope to have Miss Mustard Seed's Milk Paint out for sale.  I have been playing with it a little bit, and I'm in love with the outcome.

As you can see, my first project turned out beautiful!  I love the way the milk paint chips all on it's own, making the furniture piece look naturally aged.  This was the first time I had used milk paint, and was pretty pleased with the results.

The process from start to finish is pretty easy, but the results look like it took much more time and energy to get to the end product.

What do you think?  Did I do good for my first try?

This is what she started out like.   Great lines, wonderful size, just not there yet.

Oh how I wish I could keep her.

Take a close look at all that chippy-ness.  You can have some too.  Stop by the shop and pick up some Miss Mustard Seed's Milk Paint and start painting!  We will be open this weekend and should have it all out by then.  We hope to see you Thursday, Friday or Saturday, and remember, we are open every Tuesday now too, from 9-12.  Have a great week!
